SEARCA and ERGONS Conduct Training on Geospatial Applications and Analysis for Climate Resiliency, Mitigation and Adaptation

ANTIPOLO, Philippines – SEARCA, in association with ERGONS Project Marketing Consultants, conducted a two-day training course on Geospatial Applications and Analysis for Climate Resiliency, Mitigation and Adaptation Planning for Upper Marikina River Basin Protected Landscape (UMRBPL) on 10-11 February 2014 in Antipolo City, Rizal. The training was attended by more than 25 key technical personnel from the participating LGUs of Antipolo City, Baras, Rodriguez, San Mateo, and Tanay, all in the province of Rizal. The training aimed to increase the knowledge and understanding, as well as develop technical skills of the participants in the application of geospatial technology in the context of climate resiliency, mitigation and adaptation.

This training is a component of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) funded project titled, Climate Resilience and Green Growth in the Upper Marikina River Basin Protected Landscape: Demonstrating the Eco-town Framework (TA-8111 PHI:). The Climate Change Commission (CCC) serves as its implementing agency, while the Technical Assistance is supervised by Dr. Ancha Srinivasan, Principal Climate Change Specialist of ADB Southeast Asia Department.
