An annual event of the Southeast Asian University Consortium for Graduate Education in Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC), this year's Graduate Forum expects to bring 34 students from the different UC members to present the results of their research activities. With the theme "Combating Food & Energy Insecurity and Climate Change through Inclusive and Sustainable Agricultural Innovations," the students will present their papers under three parallel sessions, namely: (1) Agriculture and Life Sciences, (2) Agro-Industry, and (3) Agribusiness and Agricultural Extension.
The UC was formed in 1989 as a commitment among the leading agricultural universities in the region to collaborate through staff and student exchanges, and joint researches and programs.
SEARCA serves as Secretariat to the Consortium. The current UC members include KU in Thailand, the University of the Philippines Los Baños, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Institut Pertanian Bogor, and Universitas Gadjah Mada, both in Indonesia. Tokyo University of Agriculture, an Associate Member, and Universitas Brawijaya, an Affiliate Member, are also sending students to participate in the Graduate Forum.
