Baseline Information and Vulnerability Assessment Reports of the ADB-CCC EcoTown Project Presented to Stakeholders

MANILA, Philippines – The Project Steering Committee of the Asian Development Bank (ADB)-funded technical assistance (TA) project, TA-8111 PHI: Climate Resilience and Green Growth in the Upper Marikina River Basin Protected Landscape (UMRBPL): Demonstrating the Eco-town Framework, have accepted the Baseline Information and Vulnerability Assessment (VA) Reports on 14 April. 2014. The reports included the five sectoral vulnerability assessments on health, agriculture, water, forestry and roads and bridges.

The Climate Change Commission (CCC) is the implementing agency of this TA, while the Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA), in partnership with ERGONS Project Marketing Consultants, has been commissioned by ADB to conduct the study.

Secretary Mary Ann Lucille L. Sering of the Climate Change Commission started the meeting by echoing the instructions of President Benigno S. Aquino III to scale up the initiatives between 2014 to 2016. She said that, primarily, the President wants any plan or program be based, at least, on a vulnerability assessment.
